Here's a look at the Southwest Jewish Archives (SWJA) new interface. Casey Ontiveros, our team's graphic artist and web designer, has given this Through Our Parents' Eyes website a beautiful new banner and contemporary design. It may take 3 weeks to get all the content migrated and some sections will undergo revisions. For example, when the first version of the website went public, the Web was very new - it was 1995. The Synagogues of the Southwest exhibit, at that time, was the only place on the Web for southwestern synagogues. Many of those contacted provided information and a photo or two. Now, everyone has a website and there is no need to duplicate what these synagogues are providing. Instead, I anticipate selecting content that has historical and architectural value.
Casey has also made good use of a Drupal module to display our images. The Pioneers exhibit features images acquired from regional archives but many have little text/info to accompany them. Casey has developed a block of thumbnails that when you click one, it displays a larger version. Here's a screenshot.
